This policy covers the Tardis World History website and its ChatGPT plugin, maintained by the Tardis project. For privacy questions or requests, contact cp-tech-rabbit@pm.me.
Information processed by the plugin
The plugin does not require a Tardis account. Its tools receive the requested year range, country, display language, and pagination settings, together with the protocol information needed to handle the request. These inputs are used to return public historical entries and display the map.
The plugin does not request your full conversation history, email address, precise location, payment details, or access to private accounts. Its tools are read-only. Country and period selections can be sent back to ChatGPT as context for your current interaction.
The application does not save individual tool requests or maintain a user-history database. Request inputs are processed for the duration of the request. Public timeline data, rather than user queries, is cached in server memory for up to five minutes.
Website preferences and links
The website stores theme and catalog-display preferences in your browser’s local storage. These preferences remain until you change them or clear the site’s browser data. Timeline links can include the selected period, language, country, or historical entry in their URL. Anyone you share such a link with can see those selections.
Hosting and website analytics
Vercel hosts the website and plugin endpoint. Hosting infrastructure processes connection and diagnostic information, which can include IP addresses, request URLs, timestamps, user-agent information, and errors, to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. Hosting-log retention is governed by the hosting provider’s configured retention; the Tardis application does not create a separate request-history store.
The main website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate usage information such as page views, referring pages, approximate location, and browser or device type. This helps us understand which parts of the site are used. The embedded ChatGPT map does not load this analytics script.
Vercel documents that its Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies and discards its visitor-session identifier after 24 hours. Aggregate analytics can remain available according to the service’s retention settings. See Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation and Vercel’s privacy policy.
Support and feedback
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. If you choose the Google Forms feedback link, Google processes the form submission under its own privacy policy. We use support and feedback information to respond, investigate problems, and correct historical entries.
Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the request and handle related follow-up. You can request deletion by emailing us. We may retain information when necessary to address abuse or meet a legal obligation. Please include only information relevant to your request.
Service providers and other services
Information is processed by the providers necessary to operate these features: Vercel for hosting and website analytics, OpenAI for the ChatGPT experience, our email provider for correspondence, and Google if you use the optional feedback form. Providers may process information in other countries under their own terms and privacy policies.
ChatGPT account information and conversations are handled by OpenAI under OpenAI’s privacy policy. Email is handled by Proton under Proton’s privacy policy; optional feedback forms are subject to Google’s privacy policy. Historical source links take you to independent websites.
Tardis does not sell personal information or use tool requests for advertising. Public timeline data is fetched from our timeline API without forwarding individual tool arguments to that API.
Your choices
You can clear local preferences using your browser’s site-data controls, stop using or disconnect the plugin in ChatGPT, and choose not to submit feedback. Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of support information. We may need to verify that a request concerns your own information. For data held by ChatGPT or another provider, use that provider’s privacy controls.
