About Tardis World History
Tardis World History is an interactive timeline and map for exploring history across countries and civilizations. Start where you live, then zoom out to your neighbors and on to the whole world. Along the way you meet peoples and cultures that seem different from your own, and find they are much the same.
Pick a time, a place, your languages and a topic. Begin with what you know, and follow the threads to what you don’t.

The world is vast, full of wonder and mystery. We shall never stop learning.

I named it Tardis, for Time And Relative Dimensions in Space, after the time machine in my favorite show, Doctor Who. Like the Doctor, I long to wander through time and space and come a little closer to its mysteries.
Reading the colors
Each region is a row of its periods on one shared time axis. Color and texture name the kind, and the timeline uses the same colors.
